Specialist, Business Development Events

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute client-facing business development events and internal programs
• Strategize with the business development team to conceptualize ideas and source venues
• Handle all event logistics including vendor coordination, invitations, communications, and post-event follow-up
• Create and manage event-specific budgets, timelines, and milestones
• Conduct domestic and international venue research and negotiate contracts and terms
• Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders regarding attendance, deadlines, and deliverables
• Manage on-site event execution, including catering, AV setup, décor, and security
• Assist with the firm’s annual partner meeting and other related projects

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in event planning
• Proficiency in contract negotiation and managing terms
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
• Willingness to travel as necessary
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends at event venues to ensure smooth operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a law firm or professional services environment
• Experience working with production companies, DMCs, and hotels to support large-scale conferences
