About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and expansion of the Public Health Vending Machine Pilot Initiative
  • Provide technical assistance to funded OOPPs and conduct research to increase naloxone access
  • Support research efforts to enhance pharmacy naloxone distribution and engagement
  • Provide programmatic support for community engagement across OENDU projects
  • Collaborate with staff to develop materials for overdose prevention and naloxone distribution
  • Manage packing, mailing, and record-keeping for naloxone kits and training materials
  • Participate in and facilitate OENDU meetings
  • Support agency-wide efforts to advance racial, gender, and social equity
  • Represent OENDU in workgroups and present to community coalitions

Requirements

  • Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental science, or public health
  • Knowledge of substance use and harm reduction practice and theory
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, and Word
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Sensitivity to diverse ethnic, racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with syringe exchange, overdose prevention, and HIV/Hepatitis C prevention education
  • Experience in a research or administrative capacity within public health
