Special Projects Lead

Responsibilities

• Solve the CEO's hardest problems with shifting scope and high urgency
• Build 0→1 systems across underwriting operations, customer experience, and risk evaluation using AI
• Conduct deep analysis on customer interactions, underwriting requirements, and operational workflows
• Bridge engineering, operations, and growth by turning market reality into product requirements
• Own problems end-to-end from data gathering to experiment execution
• Run cross-functional initiatives across engineering, carriers, underwriters, and customers
• Build the intelligence layer including dashboards, metrics, and reporting

Requirements

• 2–5 years in high-intensity analytical or operational roles (IB, PE, management consulting, or equivalent startup experience)
• Exceptional analytical skills including complex data and financial modeling
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate autonomously and context-switch rapidly
• Proven track record of delivering under pressure
• Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate immediately
• Ability to work on-site in SF with a high-intensity schedule (approx. 5 AM–8 PM)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in insurance, fintech, or regulated industries
• Prior work directly with founders or C-suite executives
• Familiarity with AI/automation tooling
• Prior startup or 0→1 experience
