Special Process Expert - Welding

Responsibilities

• Coordinate welding special processes throughout the tender, development, production, and warranty phases in accordance with ISO 14731.
• Participate in tender and concurrent engineering phases to integrate industrial constraints, mitigate risks, and optimize costs.
• Perform contract reviews regarding the impact on welding activities for all new projects.
• Coordinate the site welding team and manage welding activities to guarantee QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) and EHS objectives.
• Ensure the qualification of welding procedures and validate the training and qualification of operators.
• Propose recovery solutions for non-conformities, anomalies, or incidents.
• Support sourcing and quality teams in choosing and monitoring sub-suppliers involved in welding.
• Participate in the Alstom welding expert network and support welding audits on workstations.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Experience with industrial welding processes and techniques.
• Knowledge of welding management standards including EN 15085-2, ISO 3834, and DVS.
• Familiarity with ISO 14731 and its application in welding coordination.
• Welding engineering certification (e.g., IWE, EWE).
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
