About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight and governance for special processes including heat treat, welding, cleaning, plasma coating, and peening
  • Serve as the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical guidance to operations, quality, and engineering teams
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, aerospace standards, NADCAP requirements, and internal procedures
  • Lead and support internal and external audits related to special processes
  • Investigate process escapes, nonconformances, and root cause corrective actions to reduce defects
  • Develop, improve, and standardize systems, controls, and documentation to strengthen quality performance
  • Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing and leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support qualification, validation, and approval activities for special processes and suppliers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of quality engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing
  • Experience overseeing or supporting special processes in a regulated industry
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with heat treat, welding, plasma coatings, cleaning, and/or shot peening
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards including ASTM, AMS, and NADCAP
  • Experience supporting engine MRO operations or Pratt & Whitney Canada (PWC) programs
  • ASQ, Six Sigma, or related quality certifications
