About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technically complex and high-risk nursing care for patients undergoing sedation, intravenous infusions, and complex radiology procedures.
- Perform specialized monitoring during the procedure and recovery phases.
- Assess and treat patient conditions specific to the work area, including pain, anxiety, and claustrophobia.
- Administer high-risk infusions and transfusions, such as chemotherapy medicines.
- Maintain nursing equipment, work areas, and emergency supplies in proper working condition.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA legislation and hospital safety protocols.
Requirements
- Current Illinois licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree if combined with 5+ years of clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU or ED setting.
- Leadership or management experience within a specialty area.
