Special Police Officer

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of employees and patrons at all MSE venues
• Prevent theft, protection of personal property, and prevent assaults or gate crashing
• Patrol premises to detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
• Permit only accurately ticketed/approved guests into venues
• Detain individuals based on probable cause for offenses committed in their presence
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees and visitors
• Prevent unauthorized personnel from entering restricted areas and investigate disturbances
• Write reports of daily activities, irregularities, theft, or unusual occurrences
• Inspect and adjust security systems and equipment to detect tampering
• Maintain availability on a 24/7, 365-day basis as essential personnel

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Experience in security, law enforcement, military, or life safety
• Ability to acquire and maintain an active DC Special Police Officer License within 14 days of hire
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Availability to work 20-25 hours per week
• Flexibility for On Call assignments

Preferred Qualifications

• Current First Aid / CPR / AED Certifications
