About the role

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions, providing neuro-musculoskeletal injury care for Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel.
  • Utilize approved clinical privileges including ordering images, laboratory tests, pharmaceuticals, dry needling, acupuncture, and joint injections.
  • Supervise PT Technicians, PT Assistants, and Certified Athletic Trainers within their scope of practice.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to the HP Program Manager regarding sports medicine, injury prevention, and human performance research.
  • Document all patient care and encounters within the Military’s Electronic Health Record (e.g., MHS GENESIS) and enterprise databases.
  • Conduct equipment and literature reviews to ensure the program remains current with clinical standards.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
  • Master’s degree in Physical Therapy.
  • ABPTS certification as an OCS or SCS, or NATA ATC certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable manual therapy experience in a sports medicine field.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of SOF training, including hiking over rough terrain and functioning in austere environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Prior military or Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience.
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential through the NSCA.
