About the role

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions, providing injury care for Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel.
  • Utilize supplemental clinical privileges to order imaging studies, laboratory tests, and basic pharmaceuticals.
  • Supervise PT Technicians, PT Assistants, and Certified Athletic Trainers within their scope of practice.
  • Serve as a clinical advisor regarding injury prevention, sports medicine, and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to ensure the health program remains current.
  • Document all patient care within military Electronic Health Records (e.g., AHLTA, GENESIS) and enterprise databases.
  • Assist in developing clinical practice guidelines and performance standards to ensure consistency of care.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Master’s degree in Physical Therapy.
  • ABPTS OCS or SCS certification, or NATA ATC certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manual therapy experience in the sports medicine field.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of SOF training, including hiking over rough terrain and functioning in austere environments.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate loads up to 25 kilograms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Prior military or Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience.
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential through the NSCA.
