About the role
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions, providing injury care for Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel.
- Utilize supplemental clinical privileges to order imaging studies, laboratory tests, and basic pharmaceuticals.
- Supervise PT Technicians, PT Assistants, and Certified Athletic Trainers within their scope of practice.
- Serve as a clinical advisor regarding injury prevention, sports medicine, and rehabilitation strategies.
- Conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to ensure the health program remains current.
- Document all patient care within military Electronic Health Records (e.g., AHLTA, GENESIS) and enterprise databases.
- Assist in developing clinical practice guidelines and performance standards to ensure consistency of care.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status.
- Ability to obtain or maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Master’s degree in Physical Therapy.
- ABPTS OCS or SCS certification, or NATA ATC certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of manual therapy experience in the sports medicine field.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of SOF training, including hiking over rough terrain and functioning in austere environments.
- Ability to lift and manipulate loads up to 25 kilograms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
- Prior military or Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential through the NSCA.
