About the role
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions, providing neuro-musculoskeletal injury care for Special Operations personnel
- Utilize supplemental clinical privileges including ordering images, laboratory tests, pharmaceuticals, dry needling, acupuncture, and joint injections
- Supervise PT Technicians, PT Assistants, and Certified Athletic Trainers within their scope of practice
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on sports medicine, injury prevention, and human performance research
- Conduct equipment and literature reviews to ensure the health performance program remains current
- Document all patient care and encounters within Military Electronic Health Records (e.g., MHS GENESIS) and enterprise databases
- Participate in periodic in-service training and clinical peer reviews
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy
- ABPTS OCS or SCS certification, or NATA ATC certification
- Minimum of 5 years of manual therapy experience in a sports medicine field
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Ability to meet physical demands of SOF training, including hiking rough terrain and functioning in austere environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
- Prior military or Special Operations experience
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification
