About the role

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions, providing neuro-musculoskeletal injury care for Special Operations personnel
  • Utilize supplemental clinical privileges including ordering images, laboratory tests, pharmaceuticals, dry needling, acupuncture, and joint injections
  • Supervise PT Technicians, PT Assistants, and Certified Athletic Trainers within their scope of practice
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on sports medicine, injury prevention, and human performance research
  • Conduct equipment and literature reviews to ensure the health performance program remains current
  • Document all patient care and encounters within Military Electronic Health Records (e.g., MHS GENESIS) and enterprise databases
  • Participate in periodic in-service training and clinical peer reviews

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy
  • ABPTS OCS or SCS certification, or NATA ATC certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of manual therapy experience in a sports medicine field
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Ability to meet physical demands of SOF training, including hiking rough terrain and functioning in austere environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
  • Prior military or Special Operations experience
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification
