About the role
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions, providing neuro-musculoskeletal injury care for Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel.
- Utilize supplemental clinical privileges including ordering images, laboratory tests, pharmaceuticals, dry needling, acupuncture, and joint injections.
- Supervise PT Technicians, PT Assistants, and Certified Athletic Trainers within their scope of practice.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on sports medicine, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and human performance research.
- Document all patient care, encounters, and referrals within Military Electronic Health Records (e.g., MHS GENESIS, AHLTA).
- Conduct equipment and literature reviews to ensure the health performance program remains current with clinical standards.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain or maintain a Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy.
- ABPTS certification as either an OCS (Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist) or SCS (Sports Clinical Specialist).
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in manual therapy within a sports medicine field.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Fluency in English (oral and written).
- Ability to meet the physical demands of SOF training, including hiking over rough terrain and functioning in austere environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
- Prior military or Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential through the NSCA.
