About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide biofeedback and neurofeedback training to active duty service members to enhance cognitive and psychological performance
  • Train and educate personnel in skills such as attention, problem-solving, emotional regulation, memory enhancement, and goal-setting
  • Interpret neurocognitive test results and provide actionable feedback and recommendations to Service Members
  • Advise unit leadership on matters relating to mental performance and performance psychology
  • Collaborate with medical personnel and POTFF staff to enhance human performance interventions
  • Develop training materials and provide educational briefings to units and commands
  • Support psychophysiological and cognitive performance research under leadership supervision

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Secret or Top Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology, Human Performance, Kinesiology, Cognitive Science, or a related field with a performance psychology specialization
  • Minimum of 3 years post-doctorate experience practicing performance psychology with military members, elite athletes, or high-performance groups
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg and operate in austere environments, including hiking rough terrain and traveling via aircraft or waterborne craft

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous military background or experience
  • Biofeedback (BCIA), neurofeedback (BCIA), or International QEEG Certification Board (IQCB) certification
  • Experience with Special Operations personnel
  • Possession of or eligibility for a state license to practice in mental health, counseling, or psychology
