About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and direct clinical services to special operations forces (SOF)
- Develop, plan, and initiate resiliency programs to support service member readiness
- Conduct psychological evaluations using clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources
- Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the DSM
- Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups
- Assist in the rehabilitation of patients and help medical/surgical patients manage illnesses or injuries
- Practice within the guidelines of state licensing boards, APA Ethical Principles, and MTF privileges
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Secret or Top Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited institution
- Successful completion of an APA-accredited internship or residency
- Minimum of two years of peer-reviewable clinical practice in a mental health setting
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in a U.S. state, territory, or DC
- Ability to obtain practice privileges from the servicing military medical treatment facility
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a government setting, such as the Department of Defense (DoD) or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF
