About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and direct clinical services to special operations forces (SOF)
  • Develop, plan, and initiate resiliency programs to support service member readiness
  • Conduct psychological evaluations using clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources
  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the DSM
  • Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups
  • Assist in the rehabilitation of patients and help medical/surgical patients manage illnesses or injuries
  • Practice within the guidelines of state licensing boards, APA Ethical Principles, and MTF privileges

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Secret or Top Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited institution
  • Successful completion of an APA-accredited internship or residency
  • Minimum of two years of peer-reviewable clinical practice in a mental health setting
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in a U.S. state, territory, or DC
  • Ability to obtain practice privileges from the servicing military medical treatment facility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a government setting, such as the Department of Defense (DoD) or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF
