Special Inspector

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate inspection activities across multiple construction sites or large-scale projects
• Conduct advanced inspections to verify compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations
• Perform field inspections and materials testing for soil, concrete, masonry, and structural elements
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, architects, and regulatory agencies to resolve construction issues
• Prepare daily inspection and testing reports
• Monitor material quality, workmanship, and job-site safety
• Issue stop-work orders when required and verify corrective actions
• Document construction progress, issues, and resolutions

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of construction inspection experience on residential and commercial building projects
• ACI – Field Technician I certification
• ICC – Reinforced Concrete certification
• ICC – Structural Masonry certification
• ICC – Structural Steel & Bolting certification
• Hazmat certification
• NAQTC – Sampling & Density certification
• Nuclear Density Gauge Operator certification
• OSHA – 10 certification
• Knowledge of IBC and ACI Codes and Standards
• Valid driver's license with 3 or less demerit points
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather

Preferred Qualifications

• ACI – Post-Installed Anchor certification
• ICC – Soils Special Inspector certification
• ICC – Spray-applied Fireproofing Special Inspector certification
• ICC – Structural Welding certification
• ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor certification
