Special Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform field tests on concrete to ensure compliance with project specifications
• Document and report test results accurately
• Conduct soil density tests using nuclear gauges
• Evaluate soil compaction and ensure it meets project requirements
• Maintain and calibrate equipment as necessary
• Inspect reinforced concrete structures, reinforcing steel placement, and formwork
• Inspect pre-stressed concrete components during fabrication and installation
• Inspect masonry construction, including materials, methods, and workmanship
• Inspect structural steel fabrication and erection, including welding procedures
• Inspect residential buildings to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
• Review construction plans and specifications

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar inspection role
• Familiarity with local construction codes and regulations
• Proficiency in using inspection tools and software
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains
• Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• ACI Field Grade 1 Technician
• Soils Inspector
• ICC Reinforced Concrete Inspector
• ICC Pre-Stressed Concrete Inspector
• ICC Masonry Inspector
• ICC Structural Steel/Welding Inspector
• ICC Residential Building Inspector
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, codes, and standards
