Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCO)

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the infant school
• Ensure children with additional needs receive appropriate support to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally
• Work closely with staff, parents/carers, external agencies, and school leadership to promote inclusive practice
• Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice

Requirements

• Qualified teacher
• NASENCO qualification or NPQ SENCO
• Strong understanding of SEND provision and inclusive practice
• Experience in a primary or infant school setting
• Excellent communication and strong organisational skills
• A proactive, caring, and solution-focused approach

Benefits

• Permanent, part-time position (one day per week)
• Salary in line with the appropriate teacher pay scale (MPS Main Scale Pay Range 1 - 6), pro-rated for part-time hours
• Term time only contract
