About the role
Responsibilities
- Modify, differentiate, and teach an inclusive curriculum emphasizing diversity
- Collaborate with families and Special Education teams to develop 504 and IEPs
- Create an inclusive and safe environment for self-guided learners
- Analyze student work samples and assessments to ensure IEP compliance
- Gather academic growth data and write goals for annual IEP meetings
- Provide pull-out, push-in, small group, and one-on-one instruction
- Build positive relationships with students and partner with families for resources
- Participate in professional development, mentorship, and coaching
- Engage in weekly school-wide meetings and grade-level team planning
Requirements
- Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with internal and external partners
- Ability to solicit and implement feedback
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Academic expertise in Special Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM, or related fields
- Ability to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities
