Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities

• Coordinate educational and behavioral programming for students with developmental disabilities, specifically autism.
• Train and supervise university undergraduate practicum students.
• Collaborate with families of students attending the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center.
• Coordinate inter-departmental activities related to educational and behavioral assessment, intervention, and transition.
• Manage data and goal assessment/planning for assigned student groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• NJ Teacher K-6 certification (including CE/CEAS).
• Teacher of the Handicapped Certification or Teacher of Students with Disabilities endorsement/CE/CEAS.
• 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with autism.
• Experience with behavioral technology, data management, and paraprofessional supervision.
• Proficiency in computer literacy and communication skills.
• Ability to be physically active, including running, playing games, and performing crisis management techniques if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
