Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities

• Modify, differentiate, and teach an inclusive curriculum
• Collaborate with families and Special Education teams to develop 504 and IEPs
• Create an inclusive and safe learning environment
• Analyze student work samples and assessments to ensure IEP compliance
• Gather academic growth data and write goals for annual IEP meetings
• Provide pull-out, push-in, small group, and one-on-one instruction
• Build positive relationships with students and families
• Participate in professional development, mentorship, and coaching
• Partner with grade level teams to develop academic goals

Requirements

• Commitment to supporting students' social emotional and academic development
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners
• Self-directed learner capable of implementing feedback
• Interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools
• Academic expertise in Special Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM, or related fields
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum 2.5 GPA
• Ability to pass state teacher certification tests (MTELs) if not already licensed

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in urban school settings
• Existing MA special education license or equivalent from another state
• Documented completion of an approved special education program
