Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and assess educational programs for primary-aged students with diverse learning needs.
• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to students with complex learning requirements.
• Work collaboratively with Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Sports Coaches, and families to provide integrated, student-centred care.
• Train and supervise Classroom Assistants to effectively coordinate classroom programs.
• Integrate technology, such as Interactive Whiteboards and iPads, into the curriculum to enhance learning.

Requirements

• Approved teaching qualification with experience in the primary curriculum.
• Current NESA Teacher Accreditation.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver differentiated instruction for diverse learners.
• Strong leadership skills with experience supervising classroom staff.
• Proficiency in using educational technology including iPads and Interactive Whiteboards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with allied health professionals and families.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working specifically with students with a range of disabilities.
• Formal qualifications or specialized experience in Special Education.
