Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, individualized, and small-group instruction for students with disabilities as outlined in their IESP
• Ensure fulfillment of weekly IESP mandates and coordinate intervention schedules with school schedules
• Develop and submit quarterly progress reports and maintain regular communication with families
• Record service delivery and student performance in the company system with precise documentation
• Develop and execute engaging lesson plans meeting unique academic, social, and emotional needs
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school staff to create inclusive learning environments
• Monitor and assess student progress and participate in IESP meetings

Requirements

• Valid NYS Students with Disabilities certification (B-2, 1-6, 7-12, or All Grades) or NYS Literacy Specialist
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience
• Fluency in Yiddish
• Experience teaching Mathematics and ELA
• Must not have been employed by NYC DOE within the last 12 months
• Dependable transportation
• NYC DOE fingerprinting status/approval or willingness to complete
