Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities

• Co-teach and co-plan with general education teachers using the ICT model
• Push in to multiple classrooms to provide accommodations, scaffolds, and targeted support
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to reinforce skills, improve access, and build independence
• Implement IEPs with fidelity including accommodations, modifications, goal support, and progress tracking
• Help adjust assignments, assessments, and materials to meet diverse learning needs
• Communicate clearly with school staff and families

Requirements

• NYS certification: Students with Disabilities (Grades 7–12)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Special Education
• Strong IEP knowledge regarding instruction and compliance
• Ability to manage a schedule across multiple classrooms

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ICT, inclusion, or collaborative teaching
