About the role
Responsibilities
- Review intake assessments to ensure educational services align with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Coordinate and provide pull-out, push-in, small group, and one-on-one instruction
- Schedule and facilitate Special Education team, IEP, and pre-referral meetings
- Manage the evaluation process, including classroom observations and testing
- Partner with general education teachers to advocate for classroom accommodations
- Oversee the writing and implementation of IEPs and 504s
- Maintain student records and ensure compliance with City, State, and Federal regulations
- Build positive relationships with students and families to support academic and social-emotional growth
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Academic expertise in Special Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM, or related fields
- Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools
- Ability to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements
- Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in urban school communities
