Special Constable - 4th Class

Responsibilities

• Provide effective law enforcement and security services to the University of Toronto community
• Perform foot, bicycle, and mobile patrols across campus
• Execute traffic and crowd control duties as required
• Investigate and report activities that violate University policies or provincial/federal legislation
• Gather and preserve evidence, apprehend offenders, and execute warrants
• Prepare detailed reports and maintain journals using NicheRMS software
• Provide physical security for visiting dignitaries and implement crime prevention programs

Requirements

• University or college degree (or three years of related experience in policing, security, or loss prevention)
• Secondary school diploma or recognized equivalency
• Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
• Current Standard First Aid and Level C CPR Certificate
• Ability to pass a medical examination and psychological testing
• Ability to pass a fitness test based on Ontario Police Fitness Award guidelines
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Constable Status through rigorous background checks
