About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver an annual teaching load of 18 credit hours, including at least six credit hours focused on public history
- Provide undergraduate classroom instruction and direct student internships
- Build and maintain community partnerships with local museums, archives, and historic sites
- Engage in research and teaching related to public history, material culture, museum studies, or digital history
- Collaborate with faculty, students, and staff to support an inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Ph.D. in history (required at the time of appointment)
- Demonstrated teaching experience in U.S. public history
- Research experience in material culture, museum studies, or digital history
- Proven ability to engage in community-based historical work
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in 17th–19th century U.S. social, urban, and/or indigenous history
- Experience with digital history methodologies
