About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and coordination of briefing materials, background memos, and stakeholder summaries for the Director’s speaking engagements and media appearances
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for cross-functional coordination on Director-led initiatives, including public events and strategic partner engagement
  • Represent the Director’s Office in communication with senior internal and external stakeholders, including scholars, University officials, and industry leaders
  • Provide logistical oversight for the Director’s calendar to ensure effective prioritization of time
  • Develop and manage systems for tracking events, speaking engagements, and follow-up deliverables
  • Conduct background research for articles, interviews, and the Director's podcast
  • Draft high-level correspondence, including invitations and acknowledgments, on behalf of the Director
  • Maintain strict discretion and professionalism when managing confidential personnel, fundraising, and partnership information
  • Supervise and mentor student employees supporting the Director’s Office
  • Travel to support the Director at high-level events and external engagements

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and/or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Proven experience in administrative management for highly confidential and complex items
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, political acumen, and diplomacy
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing responsibilities with resilience
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience in energy policy
  • Professional experience within a non-profit, NGO, or academic setting
