About the role
Responsibilities
- Collect, harmonize, and process subnational data including administrative, census, survey, and geospatial datasets.
- Run and maintain the territorial analytics pipeline, ensuring workflows for indicator building and spatial aggregation are reproducible.
- Maintain organized repositories of data, metadata, and code, updating analyses in response to major shocks or data revisions.
- Coordinate with country offices and sector experts to validate data and contextualize results.
- Manage and update geospatial visualization platforms and integrate new data layers such as climate or disaster risk data.
- Produce analytical outputs including maps, dashboards, and visualizations to support country strategy teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Data Science, Economics, Urban Planning, Statistics, GIS, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in geospatial analytics, spatial statistics, or data science.
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale analytical projects using complex subnational datasets.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Citizenship of an IDB member country.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with international organizations, multilateral development banks, or government agencies.
- Experience analyzing datasets related to fragility, conflict, criminal violence, or disaster risk.
- Knowledge of Portuguese and/or French.
