Spacecraft Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of spacecraft systems engineering, including concept development, trade studies, and CONOPS definition
• Manage requirements decomposition, allocation, interface definition, and verification/validation
• Apply a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to manage technical elements of the space vehicle system
• Coordinate with subsystem engineering teams to ensure integrated system design and execution
• Participate in software integration and test activities to ensure mission functionality
• Perform analyses to optimize spacecraft system architecture and resolve cross-functional technical issues
• Support integration and test operations, anomaly resolution, and risk management

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering or science discipline
• 1+ years of experience with aerospace systems engineering principles and techniques
• Demonstrated familiarity with requirements analysis and flow-down
• Demonstrated familiarity with design verification and validation processes
• Demonstrated familiarity with satellite-level integration and test processes
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline
• 2+ years of professional experience in space systems engineering
• Experience with MBSE software and principles such as Cameo, SysML, or UML
• Familiarity with configuration management and system budgets (power, mass, etc.)
• Direct experience with rapid spacecraft development programs or in-orbit operations
• Active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance
