About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development, analysis, prototyping, and integration of structural systems and spacecraft components
  • Perform comprehensive structural analysis of spacecraft and platform components using NX Nastran and FEA tools
  • Develop and validate finite element models to assess performance under static, dynamic, thermal, and acoustic loads
  • Design and model parts, assemblies, and components in NX CAD, ensuring manufacturability and GD&T compliance
  • Apply design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles and rapid prototyping techniques
  • Lead and support structural test campaigns including design, execution, and data processing

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering
  • 5–7 years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and testing
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD (NX preferred) and advanced FEA tools (NX Nastran)
  • Experience in spacecraft-level structural test campaign design and execution
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and DFM principles
  • Expertise in dynamic mechanical system design and failure modes
  • Experience with structural analysis of metallic and composite structures
  • U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with satellite or spacecraft primary and secondary structures in flight programs
  • Familiarity with composite manufacturing processes
  • Experience with thermal-structural analysis and distortion modeling
