Spacecraft Operations Engineer I/II

Responsibilities

• Manage the health, safety, and performance of a growing fleet of satellites
• Leverage automation and software-driven solutions for mission execution
• Design, develop, and test ground software and flight software sequences
• Maintain continuous integration and testing of operational code
• Support on-call shifts and develop test methods and data analysis
• Run validation against spacecraft simulation tools like flatsat and HITL
• Support AIT teams across multiple spacecraft integrated tests
• Generate and maintain requirements for spacecraft missions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or other technical discipline)
• Experience in space mission design, satellite subsystems, ground systems, or spacecraft operations
• Understanding of spacecraft subsystems (ADCS, electrical power, communications, thermal control)
• Understanding of orbital mechanics and rigid body dynamics
• Software development experience in Python, Ruby, C, or C++
• U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in an engineering discipline
• Prior experience in spacecraft operations or satellite system design
• Exposure to modern development practices including GIT, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing
• TS/SCI Clearance
