Spacecraft Environmental Test Technician

Responsibilities

• Assemble, instrument, and test spacecraft flight hardware throughout development and production campaigns
• Set up, operate, and maintain environmental test equipment including thermal vacuum chambers and vibration systems
• Install and troubleshoot instrumentation such as thermocouples, accelerometers, and strain gauges
• Support spacecraft integration, activation, and functional testing
• Monitor test performance, identify anomalies, and support root cause investigations
• Collaborate with engineers to develop test procedures, tooling, and fixtures
• Perform mechanical assembly, disassembly, and rework on spacecraft hardware
• Maintain accurate documentation of test configurations and results
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and contamination control requirements

Requirements

• U.S. Person status required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing test systems
• Experience operating environmental test equipment or laboratory equipment
• Proficiency with electronic test equipment like multimeters and oscilloscopes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with spacecraft, satellite, or launch vehicle programs
• Familiarity with TVAC, vibration, shock, or acoustic testing
• Experience fabricating and repairing cable harnesses
• Knowledge of IPC-620, J-STD-001, or NASA-STD-8739 standards
• Experience working in cleanroom environments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MES systems
