About the role

About the Company

Oligo is building a manufacturing-in-the-loop foundation model to automate spacecraft design and production worldwide. Leveraging cutting edge AI-driven generative design and automated manufacturing, our ex-MIT, Harvard, and NASA JPL team works to create the most advanced payload-specific spacecraft at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Own sub-system designs including primary structures, mechanisms, enclosures, and mounts
  • Create detailed 3D models and drawings using GD&T
  • Fabricate and assemble spacecraft hardware using manual and CNC equipment
  • Participate in environmental qualification campaigns including TVAC, vibration, and shock testing
  • Improve Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and assembly workflows
  • Collaborate with Avionics and Generative Design teams for mechanical-electrical integration
  • Assist in cable routing, power distribution layouts, and connector design
  • Support engineering reviews such as PDR, CDR, and TRR

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Demonstrated hands-on project experience (e.g., Formula SAE, Rocketry Club)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA
  • Experience with manual or CNC machining and shop safety
  • Understanding of material properties, fastener selection, and tolerance stack-ups
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FEA/Thermal analysis (Ansys, Thermal Desktop, or Simcenter)
  • Experience with 3D wire routing or cable assembly
  • Experience working in fast-paced startup environments
  • Familiarity with Git, Jira, or similar project management tools
