Space Systems Thermal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze spacecraft thermal control systems at system and subsystem levels
• Define thermal requirements, design criteria, and verification approaches
• Develop thermal mathematical models for flight and test predictions
• Perform preliminary and detailed sizing of thermal control systems
• Support thermal test campaigns, including preparation, prediction, and model correlation
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, AIT, and manufacturing
• Provide technical support to subcontractors and suppliers regarding thermal hardware
• Prepare and review technical documentation in compliance with ECSS standards

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
• 1 to 3 years of experience in spacecraft thermal control design and analysis
• Knowledge of thermal control solutions such as MLI, coatings, and heaters
• Experience with thermal modeling tools like SYSTEMA/THERMICA or ESATAN-TMS
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Familiarity with ECSS standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in cryogenics or two-phase heat transport systems
• Proficiency in Python or similar tools for data post-processing and analysis
• Experience with requirement management tools such as DOORS
• Familiarity with CAD tools and engineering documentation
• Fluency in Spanish, French, or German
