About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and oversee design and development execution for advanced, secure communications systems.
- Influence projects to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance commitments.
- Partner closely with engineering, program management, manufacturing, and customers.
- Lead customer-facing activities including proposals, bids, and technical presentations.
- Guide high-performing teams of scientists and engineers through the full lifecycle of technology development.
- Travel up to 25% of the time to partner, customer, and corporate office sites.
Requirements
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in systems engineering with extensive experience on new development programs.
- Experience leading technical teams from concept to pursuit to award for R&D contracts.
- STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Proven ability to present technical information in presentations, journal papers, and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful capture of new R&D contracts from US Government customers.
- Fluency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, C, or C++.
- Recognized technical leader or subject matter expert at a regional or national level.
- Strong professional network of R&D contacts across the Space Customer Base and/or Federal Government.
