Space Doctrine SME - STARCOM

Responsibilities

• Develop and assist in the development of USSF keystone and operational doctrine publications and doctrine notes
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for USSF doctrine development, including processes, staffing, and training
• Conduct systematic reviews of Service, Joint, and Allied doctrine publications and consolidate inputs from USSF Field Commands
• Analyze operating concepts and mission-relevant documents to ensure alignment with USSF policies and equities
• Manage Mission Operations Directorate-level coordination, including internal and external tasking and routine reporting
• Own end-to-end development and staffing of governance documentation, wargaming instructions, and Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans
• Attend meetings and technical exchanges to capture decisions and translate outcomes into staff-ready products

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• BA/BS degree or 5 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience writing and staffing USSF, Service, or Joint doctrine publications or governance directives
• Headquarters experience in USSF, USAF, Combatant Command, or Field Command
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work in a secure, confined location (SCIF)
• Strong written communication skills and ability to provide strategic advice and technical guidance

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience drafting or staffing USSF Service-level doctrine
• Experience coordinating inputs and adjudicating comments across USSF Field Commands and Headquarters organizations
• USSF training experience, including training policy development or curriculum support
• Familiarity with continuity planning and formal staffing/approval processes
• Proficiency with Task Management Tools
