About the role

Responsibilities

  • Implement daily structured activities and support within the residential facility
  • Assist in managing coexistence and social integration among residents from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Provide information regarding internal and external counseling, support, and aid services
  • Support onsite social workers in their daily tasks
  • Communicate facility procedures, rules, and contact persons to residents
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within the living environment

Requirements

  • Completed 3-year vocational training in a recognized field (ideally social services) or at least 6 years of proven experience in a social sector (e.g., refugee aid, social counseling, nursing)
  • High level of social competence, communication skills, and intercultural understanding
  • Fluency in German and proficiency in English
  • Ability to work in shifts (morning, day, and late shifts)
  • Proof of measles vaccination
  • Resilience and the ability to handle conflict situations effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with multicultural personalities
  • Proficiency in additional languages such as French, Arabic, Albanian, Russian, Mandarin, or Tigrinja
