About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef in food preparation and management of additional staff
  • Collaborate with the Chef to create seasonal and evolving menu concepts
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining room, including equipment and floors
  • Enforce sanitation and food safety standards per state and local regulations
  • Assist in planning and executing special events
  • Manage unloading, inspecting, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies

Requirements

  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Understanding of food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours) and lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of food service or related experience
  • Experience with bulk food prep and production in a commercial kitchen
  • Valid food safety handler and sanitation certification
  • High school or vocational coursework in kitchen basics
