About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee food production on the line to ensure quality and care
- Direct and support line cooks regarding consistency, plating, and safe food handling
- Monitor and receive departmental supplies
- Prepare high-quality food following standardized recipes
- Ensure timely meal service
- Use a Resident-focused approach to create a home-like dining experience
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and follow safe work practices
Requirements
- Red Seal Chef certification
- Food Safety Awareness Course certification
- Recent Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check
- Previous cooking experience in healthcare, catering, resort, or hotel settings
