About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure food meets quality standards and SOPs
- Train, coach, and develop hourly kitchen staff
- Maintain kitchen security, equipment, food, and supply inventories
- Plan energy conservation procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety codes
- Manage food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale
- Improve processes and execute plant-wide initiatives
- Manage departmental performance measures and provide progress reports to the Chef de Cuisine
- Perform accident investigations and notify management
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or related work experience
- 1-3+ years of experience in commissary kitchen and high-volume food preparation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to work in environments ranging from 30º to 70º
Preferred Qualifications
- American Culinary Federation chef certification
- Bilingual in Spanish
