Sous Chef – Bakery Team

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Baker in managing daily bakery operations and supervising staff
• Oversee the production of breads, pastries, doughs, and specialty baked items
• Maintain exceptional standards of taste, texture, and presentation
• Ensure accurate mise en place and timely preparation for service
• Participate in recipe development, menu planning, and seasonal creations
• Monitor stock levels, ordering, and proper storage of bakery ingredients
• Ensure strict compliance with HACCP, hygiene, and safety regulations
• Train and mentor junior bakers to enhance skills and performance
• Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure seamless coordination

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP in a bakery section within a fine dining restaurant in the UAE
• Strong technical knowledge of bakery production, dough fermentation, pastry techniques, and baking science
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume, high-standard environment
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Culinary or bakery certification
