Sourcing Manager

About the Company

fab2 designs and manufactures the hardware and software needed to make chips. Founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller, the team builds everything from deposition and etching tools to lithography and metrology in-house.

Responsibilities

• Own material planning for high-mix assemblies under rapid design iteration
• Perform make-versus-buy analysis and manage supplier negotiations
• Conduct in-person supplier audits and floor walks
• Identify single-sourced parts and qualify second sources
• Manage purchase orders, inbound freight, customs, and tariff exposure
• Ensure production work centers are clear-to-build on time
• Represent sourcing in the development of in-house manufacturing software
• Score suppliers on delivery, quality, and cost
• Support compliance with U.S. export control laws

Requirements

• 5+ years of sourcing, procurement, or material planning for physical products
• Experience with MRP execution in a production ERP
• Expertise in supplier negotiation and should-cost analysis
• Experience sourcing machined parts, electronics, and raw materials
• Ability to manage material planning under rapid design changes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience ramping new products into high-volume production
• Familiarity with SQL, Go, Postgres, TypeScript/React, or REST
• Familiarity with U.S. export control regulations (EAR/ITAR)
