Sort Machine Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automatic sorting machines, including Mectron, Kotsu, Retina, and CCM, according to quality standards
• Adjust machine sensors, tables, and rollers to ensure proper operation
• Run fasteners through sorting machines and verify they meet blueprint specifications
• Use micrometers, calipers, and dial gauges to regularly check parts for quality compliance
• Identify and recognize defects that automated systems may not distinguish
• Log sort runs, including part numbers, quantities, and time required
• Maintain a clean work area and follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Perform equipment maintenance such as cleaning sensors, cameras, and greasing machines

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, and dial gauges
• Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements
• Availability to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment, specifically fiber optics and vision sorters
• Previous experience operating similar machine sort equipment
• Familiarity with fasteners
