SONAR Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, installation, and maintenance for SONAR systems and electronic equipment on submarine platforms
• Install, monitor, and service equipment and systems at company and client sites
• Develop technical data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, and test reports
• Perform test, evaluation, certification, and validation tasks for various electronic systems
• Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions and reviewing Engineering Change Proposals
• Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise and provide technical data consistent with contract requirements
• Plan and coordinate the work of other engineering technicians

Requirements

• Active Secret US Government Clearance (US citizenship required)
• High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of practical experience OR a degree and 5 years of experience
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance and SUBSAFE requirements onboard submarines
• Ability to travel up to 10%
• Excellent communication and analytical skills with working knowledge of computer systems

Preferred Qualifications

• US Military weapons systems experience
• Knowledge across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems
• Qualified Advanced SONAR operator
