About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional wine and beverage service to every customer
- Recommend wines based on price, personal taste, and food selection
- Oversee wine serving, storage, and glassware standards
- Train service team members on wine selection and proper service
- Grill steak cuts to specification and maintain full table service
- Take orders, communicate flow with servers and bartenders, and use POS systems
- Handle customer complaints positively and notify management when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness, pre-buss tables, and care for service tools
- Inspect incoming orders and invoices for accuracy
- Update wine list and assist with cellar maintenance under Wine Manager direction
Requirements
- WSET Level 3 or CMS Certified Sommelier pin (preferred)
- Food Handler's Certification or ability to obtain
- Responsible alcohol service certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Legal age to serve alcohol
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English
- Familiarity with POS, reservations, inventory software, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
- Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 12 hours per day
