About the role
Responsibilities
- Drive the technical sales process by conducting detailed client discovery and needs analysis to develop tailored software solutions.
- Partner with Account Managers to deliver in-depth technical presentations and software demonstrations that communicate the value proposition of the Academic Information Systems portfolio.
- Lead technical requirements and responses for the tender process in close cooperation with the tender team.
- Design complex software solutions and overall proposals that meet client success metrics and functional requirements.
- Support the transition from pre-sales to post-sales by providing detailed handovers to Implementation and Customer Success Managers.
- Contribute to product roadmap discussions by strategizing with Sales and Product teams to create feasible software solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a similar field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Solution Engineer, Pre-Sales Consultant, or in a similar technical sales role.
- Proven experience in a consultative selling approach for complex software solutions.
- Strong software demonstration and presentation skills with the ability to present ideas clearly.
- Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SaaS (Software as a Service) models.
- Expertise in publishing systems, workflows, or the publishing industry.
- Experience working within an international, matrixed organization.
