About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of architecture solutions for the EUI Transformation Programme, migrating legacy COBOL systems to a modern Java-based environment.
- Define target architectures and roadmaps using event-driven and microservices patterns.
- Act as a bridge between Enterprise Architecture and IT delivery teams to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
- Develop reusable solution patterns, building blocks, and technical guidelines for the new technology stack.
- Create prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate key architectural components.
- Perform hands-on Java development while providing coaching and mentoring to engineering colleagues.
- Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to define requirements and ensure end-to-end consistency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in solutions architecture and systems development across the full lifecycle.
- Strong expertise in Event Hub technologies (e.g., Kafka) and modern architectures (SOA, microservices).
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Design and Java programming.
- Experience with database design (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) and containerization (OpenShift).
- Experience working within Financial Market Infrastructure or highly regulated environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with management and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Post Trade Settlement systems (CREST).
- Familiarity with messaging standards such as ISO 15022, ISO 20022, and JSON.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, IBM MQ, and the Angular framework.
