Solution Architect (AI)

Responsibilities

• Advise customers on technical design, architecture, and implementation of Appian solutions on private cloud, on-premise, or government cloud offerings
• Support the sales cycle by creating high-value, differentiated technical solutions and delivery roadmaps
• Present and vet complex technical concepts and designs to customers
• Support customers with configuration, testing, deployment, and operations using agile methodologies
• Advise federal customers on the design and integration of AI and generative AI capabilities, including LLMs and machine learning
• Lead the definition of enterprise data strategies, architectures, and governance frameworks for federal programs
• Support the development of AI governance structures aligned with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework
• Collect and review technical challenges to distill into common best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience advising customers on government cloud computing platforms
• At least 10 years of multi-tier application design and architecture experience
• Experience architecting secure cloud solutions using AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experience authoring federal proposals and whitepapers
• In-depth experience managing federal programs using agile frameworks like Scrum or SAFe
• Certified Scrum Master or other agile certifications
• Ability to obtain a US government public trust and/or DoD clearance (TS/SCI with CI Poly strongly preferred)
• Willingness to travel 10-15% including to SCIFs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience accelerating IT solutions under the federal government’s Risk Management Framework
• Experience with DevSecOps pipelines and Infrastructure Automation (Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, etc.)
• AWS, Google, or Azure Certifications
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
