About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform hand soldering of through-hole and surface mount electronic components
- Execute PCB rework, component replacement, wire modification, and blue-wire changes per engineering direction
- Inspect solder joints, component placement, and workmanship to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Support board-level assembly, touch-up, repair, and prototype modification activities
- Identify defects, damage, or nonconformances and escalate appropriately
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and handle ESD-sensitive hardware properly
- Support production schedules by completing work on time and communicating blockers
Requirements
- Must be eligible to access export-controlled information and technology subject to U.S. export control regulations (ITAR and EAR)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in electronics assembly, soldering, or PCB rework
- Demonstrated experience with fine-pitch hand soldering and component-level rework
- Ability to read assembly drawings, work instructions, BOMs, and basic engineering documentation
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship in a production environment
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working to IPC workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001
- Experience with microscope work, SMT rework, and replacement of damaged or incorrect components
- Background supporting prototype builds, engineering rework, or low-volume/high-mix production
- Familiarity with ESD controls and handling of sensitive electronic hardware
- Experience with RF hardware, coaxial assembly, or cable soldering
