Solar Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, service, and repair solar PV systems and associated equipment
• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on all PV Solar equipment
• Execute routine electrical troubleshooting, repair, and instrumentation calibration
• Complete work orders for the preventive maintenance management system
• Prepare and implement switching and clearance orders in coordination with the Operations Center
• Operate all electrical and mechanical PV Solar power plant systems
• Follow all safety procedures, JHA, PJB, and LOTO documentation requirements

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work in adverse climates and environments
• Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• For Level I: Basic electrical knowledge and ability to read schematics
• For Level II: 1+ years of power plant or PV Solar O&M/EPC experience
• For Level III: 4+ years of PV solar experience and knowledge of complex instrumentation and control systems

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman certification
• Experience with distributed control systems and inverter troubleshooting
