Software Update and Validation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create and implement award packages for equipment used in the Tech Center Flash Lab
• Design and build reliable electrical connections and interfaces for software updates on test benches and in vehicles
• Develop, validate, and maintain scripts used to perform reliable software updates
• Test and validate software updates before they are released for broader use
• Analyze software package data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues
• Design, build, and maintain tools to automate and accelerate software updates
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tools remain compatible with system requirements
• Provide training to team members on performing software updates

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in automotive technology, mechatronic systems, electrical, software engineering or related field
• Minimum 4 years professional experience in automotive electronics, mechatronics, or embedded systems
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and tool development
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Familiarity with software update protocols and version control
• Experience with bench testing, harness fabrication, and diagnostic tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAN communication, UDS protocols, or similar
• Knowledge of database systems for tracking inventory and performing updates
• Understanding of vehicle engineering and manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting vehicle systems
